When replacing the main thermocouple in a coal-fired boiler, slag is ejected when the thermocouple is pulled out; what are some good ways to avoid getting burned?
I really didn’t think of that at the time; I just thought that as long as I could plug in the thermocouple, it would work just fine
Make a sleeve; the sleeve doesn’t need to be removed frequently, only the thermometer inside the sleeve needs to be replaced
Wear protective gear, turn to the side, and perform this when the furnace is under negative pressure. However, from a safety perspective, it is better to replace it when the furnace is shut down.
The protective sleeve is made of corundum, which is wear-resistant and heat-resistant, allowing it to remain in use without frequent replacement.
Is it a circulating fluidized bed? Still a coal-fired boiler? It needs to be made clear that, first of all, replacing the bed temperature thermocouple while the furnace is in operation violates the operating procedures; this can easily lead to fires or slag discharge, so such an action is not recommended. If replacement is necessary, lower the bed temperature slightly, reduce the load and air supply, increase the fan airflow, and ensure that the pressure in the combustion chamber remains negative. Then carry out the replacement quickly. Use a thicker, more wear-resistant protective sleeve, and inspect and replace it during regular boiler maintenance. For products of decent quality, they can function properly for 6 months without issues
