Under normal circumstances, the flushing pressure is higher than the pressure in the sealing chamber. However, in scheme 52, the flushing pressure is lower than that of the sealing chamber, while in scheme 53 it is higher. How should this be understood? Let’s exchange ideas!
The sealant used in Plan52 operates at atmospheric pressure; if there is a leak in the seal at the medium side, the liquid level in the sealant tank rises, and in severe cases the tank even overflows, allowing the medium to escape into the atmosphere. The sealant pressure in Plan53 is higher than that of the medium, so whenever there is a leak in the seal at the medium side, the sealant will flow into the pump chamber. Once all the sealant has leaked out, the mechanical seal on the atmospheric side will end up grinding dry and fail very quickly. Therefore, Plan53 is advantageous for protecting the environment, but it requires more frequent maintenance, and it is generally used for sealing toxic and harmful media.
Toxic and harmful media can also be used in scheme 52, for example by directing them to a flare for treatment. As for the specific difference between 52 and 53, in my opinion, 53 is more suitable for media containing particles, and the isolation fluid can mix with such media.
