Dear seniors in the air separation field, we have been venting waste nitrogen gas here. I wondered whether it would be possible to use this gas to cool the circulating water in the fan cooling tower. I wonder if anyone has done any practical work in this area? Let’s exchange ideas

What are the risks? As long as the liquid level in your water cooling tower is accurate, water will not back up into the nitrogen waste pipeline~~
On our side, there is a nitrogen vent line with a capacity of about 3,000 cubic meters; another line is used to feed contaminated nitrogen gas into the water cooling tower to lower the water temperature. Currently, the nitrogen supplied to the water cooling tower is sufficient to cool the water, so we want to make use of the waste nitrogen that is released. Of course, it is also possible to feed the discharged nitrogen into the cold water tower, but our technicians have been refusing to do so, saying that too low water temperature will prevent proper circulation of the oil in the system.
