It relates to a dust removal pipeline with a diameter of approximately DN3000; the pipeline is L-shaped, with one end being 33 meters long (due to the need to avoid ground-based structures), and the other end being about 6.5 meters long. Supports are installed at the turning point of the L-shape, designed as dual-leg supports. However, the supervisor has raised objections and requested that they be changed to four-leg supports, on the grounds that this will prevent twisting and toppling, thereby enhancing safety. Since the leg supports and pipelines have been installed, in order to avoid delays in the project timeline and additional construction costs, I would like to ask whether it is necessary to replace these supports with four-legged ones. What is the height of the bracket? This is also a very important point. I think the suggestions put forward by the supervisor are reasonable and need to be considered comprehensively. If modification is indeed necessary, but time constraints and cost limitations exist, considering the addition of diagonal bracing in the horizontal thrust direction is an option; the structural engineering team can develop a solution for this.
The supervisor seems to act like a safety officer. If there is one support point every 8 meters, this system relies on the action of two support points. If it becomes four legs, then there’s an additional support point; thus, there would be three support points within an 8-meter range – one at the starting point, one at 3 meters, and another at 5 meters. In that case, wouldn’t the support point at 3 meters be less important?
