By changing this to a short circuit between pins 2 and 3 for a few seconds, the problem can be resolved. On older motherboards, if the user cannot find this jumper, they can simply remove the battery, wait until the system enters the CMOS setup mode after booting up, then shut down the system again – this will also result in the CMOS being discharged. 　　3. If the motherboard fails to recognize the memory, or if the memory is damaged or incompatible, it can also cause no display when the computer is turned on. Some older motherboards are quite picky about memory; if memory that cannot be recognized by the motherboard is inserted, the motherboard will not start up. In some cases, such motherboards don’t provide any error indication (no beeping). Of course, sometimes in order to expand memory and improve system performance, installing memory of different brands and types can also lead to such issues; therefore, extra care should be taken during troubleshooting. 　　For issues caused by a damaged motherboard BIOS, we can connect an ISA graphics card to see if there is any display (if there are instructions, follow them accordingly). ), if there is no boot screen, you can create your own floppy disk for automatically updating the BIOS in order to refresh it.
