Equipment issues with the metering tank

For a chemical engineering design project, the metering tank drawings provided by the client feature a flat top and flat bottom. Can these be used in the design? How to deal with this kind of problem?
It depends on the temperature and pressure. I have built metering tanks with flat bottoms and flat tops; back then we called them metering tanks, but it means the same thing anyway. These days, many property owners refer to small storage tanks as metering tanks in order to meet the requirements of 50160; you should bring this up with them and remind them.
