I would like to ask fellow sailors: is it necessary to install toxic gas alarms for acraldehyde? What are its bases and guidelines? It would be better if standards could be provided; thank you!
If it is an intermediate in a factory process, then an alarm must be required, right? ....As for regulations and such, I have no idea!
Regarding whether it is necessary to detect toxic gases, the reference standard is GB50493-2009; this standard mentions two references – one of them is Document No. 142 issued by the Health and Supervision Department, which lists common types of toxic gases along with various limits. However, the most comprehensive information can be found in this standard, where the MAC value for acrolein is specified as 0.3 mg/m3, classifying it as a highly toxic and flammable substance. So, does it make sense to conduct tests?
