Our company’s wastewater stripping tower uses a single tower with pressurized side lines for ammonia removal; alkali injection ports are located on the 17th, 19th, and 21st trays. Water hammer noises often occur during the alkali injection process – do you experience this as well? Seek a solution
We inject alkali through the hot feed line
I would like to ask how many openings should be left open during the alkali injection process; we have experienced water hammer noise when both openings were used.
If the amount of alkali added is sufficient, just make an opening
In the alkali injection, is it inserted into the downcomer or does it leak outside? If it is not submerged in the liquid phase of the downcomer, water hammer may occur; steam pouring into the alkali injection line could cause water hammer.
