May I ask which manufacturer’s flow meter it is? It seems that Emerson’s flowmeters don’t have a concept of rated flow rate. Additionally, a brief note on flow rate: the maximum flow rate indicated on typical mass flow meters corresponds to a flow velocity of around 20 m/s. However, the calibration devices used by various companies that comply with **calibration standards can achieve at most 11–12 m/s; even those from Emerson cannot reach this level. Therefore, the maximum range indicated on mass flow meters is, in the vast majority of cases, determined through theoretical calculations or by referring to values from others. Of course, this does not affect performance in most situations, as the actual flow velocities under operational conditions are far below 11 m/s. But if there is indeed a high flow rate, it is still recommended to have the manufacturer perform a real-flow calibration. If it is a water-related device, the manufacturer has the capability to do it.
Generally, for maximum flow meters, a value between 1/2 and 2/3 of the rated flow is the most reliable choice
