Reciprocating compressors do not experience surge; only centrifugal and axial flow compressors do. If there is vibration at the outlet when the compressor is started up, that is not surge but pulsating vibration, a phenomenon caused by uneven exhaust from the compressor
Agree with the third floor – if the volume ratio of the screw compressor is not appropriate, it will also experience breathing problems
