Can’t tell the difference between flooding, tower flooding, and tower submersion! Please provide a detailed explanation

A tower surge occurs when there are too many light components, resulting in no liquid level in the tower; while a tower flooding happens when there are too many heavy components, preventing proper separation, with heavy components present throughout the entire tower
This post was last edited by ylb913 on 2016-6-16 22:06. 1. Liquid flooding and tower flooding are the same concept; in fact, the degree of tower flooding can vary from mild to severe. In our workshop, it’s easier for people to understand the term \"tower flooding\" rather than \"liquid slugging\"; more often we use the term \"accumulated liquid\" (liquid accumulating inside the tower, with the liquid phase unable to flow downward). 2. Tower flooding leads to an increase in the pressure drop between the top and bottom of the tower. When this pressure difference builds up to a certain level, and once it is overcome, a large amount of liquid is carried out from the top of the tower, or the volume of gas discharged from the top increases significantly – this is what constitutes tower flooding. 3. Upon detecting a slight flooding of the tower (a slight flooding; in fact, it’s more appropriate to refer to this as liquid accumulation inside the tower), reduce the gas-phase load promptly, or reduce both the gas-phase and liquid-phase loads at the same time, so that the liquid can flow normally to the bottom of the tower and be discharged there, thereby preventing flooding of the tower.
