Chain plate conveyors are primarily used for transporting beverage products or food items. When transporting such products, it is possible to carry out various processing steps during the transportation process, such as canning and bottling. For manufacturers, choosing a good chain conveyor is crucial, as it has a significant impact on their production efficiency. A chain conveyor is an efficient conveying device that is widely used in industries such as building materials, construction, chemicals, thermal power, grain processing, mining machinery, metallurgy, and ports. Due to varying requirements regarding the material being transported, the volume of transport, and the distance of transport, the appropriate type of equipment also differs. When selecting equipment, users need to pay attention to the following aspects in order to choose the right one. The proper and rational selection of chain conveyor systems, along with adequate maintenance, is essential to fully leverage the optimal performance of these advanced devices. First is the selection of chain speed in chain plate conveyors; users must first determine the appropriate chain speed based on the properties and conditions of the material to be conveyed, such as its physical characteristics, shape, and temperature. Once the chain speed is determined, it is possible to select the appropriate model of chain conveyor; the best machine model can be chosen based on the volume of products to be transported. Since each type of chain conveyor has a specified basic conveying capacity, the table for model selection also lists the options regarding maximum conveying capacity and power requirements. It should be noted that, for the same conveying capacity, choosing a larger model of chain conveyor can result in a lower chain speed, thereby extending its service life. However, the conveying capacity should not be too low; if the actual conveying volume is more than 30% below the conveyor’s rated capacity, this will lead to a thin material layer and insufficient internal pressure, causing the conveyor to run idle and increasing its wear and tear. Regarding the reduction ratio and assembly type of chain conveyor systems, when selecting a drive unit, Y-series motors and ZQ-series reducers can be used, or cycloidal pinwheel reduction motors can also be an option. The drive mounting types for chain conveyor systems include left-mounted, right-mounted, and rear-mounted (applicable only to cycloidal pin reduction motors with a power of 5.5 KW or less). Additionally, when selecting the inlet and outlet for chain conveyor systems, it is necessary to make a choice based on the dimensions of the feed inlet; users should make relevant decisions in this regard. It is also important to note that for materials with poor flow properties or high temperatures, an upper feed inlet is generally not suitable, as this can lead to problems with feeding. Instead, feed inlets on both sides should be used whenever possible.
