There is now a device with an inner cylinder having a diameter of 2 meters, an operating pressure of 0.05 MPa, and a medium that is non-toxic and harmless. The outside part is a heating half-tube, which is welded to the cylinder; the diameter of the half-tube is 57 mm, with a spacing of 200 mm between them. The medium inside the half-tubes is steam, at a pressure of 0.8 MPa. Is this equipment classified as a Class 1 pressure vessel? Is supervision required? TSG21-2016 specifies clearly that the steam heating coils of atmospheric pressure vessels fall outside the scope of application of the Large Capacity Vessels Regulations. But it can only be implemented after this year’s National Day. TSG R0004-2009 does not specify clearly that classification is required as per the regulations.
