In the process of producing sulfuric acid from sulfur, solid sulfur is used in the sulfur melting stage; after it is melted and filtered to meet the required standards, it is stored in large tanks containing liquid sulfur for use in subsequent stages of sulfuric acid production. How often do companies of this kind need to clean their large tanks of liquid sulfur? Is it necessary to clean it?
There is no specific time; failure to clean it will cause corrosion of the container
There don’t seem to be any specific requirements for this. My liquid sulfur tank has been in use for three years now, and I still haven’t had to hire anyone to take care of it
It depends on the quality of liquid sulfur in this unit; if the ash content meets the standards, a major overhaul is carried out every three years, and cleaning is sufficient during that period
We cleaned it once after four years of driving; there was only a thin layer at the bottom, about 50 mm thick – there was no need to clean it
