Explore how various units can address the issue of preventing internal corrosion in spherical tanks due to sulfide stress corrosion cracking.
Generally, it starts with controlling the source by preventing liquefied gas with high sulfur content from entering the tank. Next is anti-corrosion treatment inside the tank; if the tank is exposed to high temperatures, aluminum spraying is used internally, while if it isn’t exposed to high temperatures, applying epoxy resin inside is also a viable option.
Since the temperature of liquid hydrocarbon tanks is not high, anti-corrosion treatment can be achieved by aluminum spraying followed by application of a sealing paint.

Alloy-based internal anti-corrosion treatment is applied inside spherical tanks; our company has carried out this work, and after 4 years the tanks were opened for inspection, showing excellent results.
