I majored in chemical engineering. I passed the Certified Foundation in Chemical Engineering exam earlier, and this year I plan to take the specialized exam. However, a friend from an engineering firm told me that the Certified Foundation in Chemical Engineering certificate is not used very often these days; many people who have obtained it keep it unused. On the other hand, there is a high demand for the First-Class Constructor certificate, and it’s relatively easier to get. I’m not sure which one I should take Also, is the basic exam for registered environmental engineers difficult? How is it compared to the basic certification exam? Let’s discuss this. It might be a bit utilitarian, but it is indeed the biggest motivation for obtaining certifications

It’s indeed difficult to get affiliated with a chemical company these days; I have several colleagues whose certificates are still held by the companies. If it is for future development, it is still recommended to obtain the CPA certification. For earning income, it is recommended to obtain a first-class construction engineer certificate.
For short-term gains, focusing on one aspect is sufficient; in the chemical industry, specializing in chemical engineering works well. For long-term planning, achieving success in both areas is just a matter of gaining a few more hairs – nothing significant
If one is engaged in the general contracting of chemical projects, having a chemical engineering qualification allows them to serve as a project manager. To be honest, according to the definition of a first-class constructor, it is merely a qualification certificate for a construction manager abroad. Moreover, after obtaining registration, one is exempt from taking two exams; in fact, no matter what certificate is pursued, it’s simply about gaining entry qualifications. It’s not the ultimate goal. Stop focusing so much on the current affiliation fee
After you finally manage to obtain the First-Class Constructor qualification with much effort, you suddenly find that the Certified Chemical Engineer title has become more valuable again; so you have to put in more effort to achieve that, which takes another few years. Look at the people around us – how many of those with a strong speculative mindset are actually successful?

Don’t mislead people; exemption from 2 subjects for the first-level constructor exam is also applicable to consulting roles, but that’s not a reason. You said that if there’s exemption from exams, then for the Certified Public Accountant exam one subject can be exempted from registration requirements, but this doesn’t apply to the First-Class Constructor exam; that’s the difference.
Ignore what others say; take the exam first and then worry about it. What others say may not necessarily apply to you. Besides, if it were really useful, could you claim that having this certificate guarantees success? After all, the exam is only held once a year
