It seems that benzyl chloride is available there; benzyl chloride can be converted into diphenylethane, which in turn can be turned into decabromodiphenylethane. For the production of diphenylethane, benzyl chloride is catalyzed using iron powder, copper powder, or cuprous chloride; after that, the mixture is washed, acid-washed, and the initial fractions are distilled off. The remaining material is then transferred to a high-pressure reactor where full reflux occurs, and the product is collected once it meets the required standards. In the washing tank, diphenylethane is washed with methanol, then cooled to induce crystallization, and finally dried. Decabromodiphenylethane: Bromine and iron powder are added to the reactor, melted diphenylethane is added drop by drop, and the mixture is kept at a constant temperature. Transfer to a steam kettle to evaporate excess bromine, filter under pressure, and then transfer to a ball milling vessel. Ball milling. Filter pressing. Drying by conductive oil gas flow. Finished product packaging. The distilled bromine is dried with concentrated sulfuric acid and reused.
