All the seal air from our reciprocating compressors is currently released directly into the atmosphere. According to the new environmental regulations, such emissions are no longer allowed. What solutions exist? I would appreciate it if you could share any good methods.
Generally, filler boxes are designed with air return holes, right?
It passes through the plant’s exhaust gas treatment system for treatment, and is then released after meeting the standards.
I saw that the machine seal gas from the reciprocating compressors in the methanol-to-hydrogen plant was discharged to be burned in the heat transfer oil furnace.
If the working medium in your compressors is toxic, flammable, or explosive, connect the leakage gases from the packing to those from the packing side connections to your flare system, and install a check valve on the pipeline leading outside
May I ask what an exhaust treatment system is? A torch?
It varies depending on the situation. The hydrogen compressor I use produces hydrogen containing acidic gases, which enter the plant’s exhaust pipelines (under nitrogen protection); after passing through a scrubber tower, they are released into the atmosphere (with a water seal in place). Maintain a slight positive pressure in the exhaust system.
But this will result in high back pressure at the packing seal, and we tried it without success.

Is a film recycling compressor the same as a gas holder?
