Ball valve 800# sw-stub (stub-smls, PE, S-80, 5L-B) API608 – what does this \"stub\" mean? I hope the experts here can give me some advice
The packing and gasket are made of PE material
Judging from stub-smls, PE, S-80, and 5L-B, it seems that a short tube is required. I guess this is a valve with a soft seal; it has short pipes attached so that the welding heat during welding does not affect the sealing surface of the valve (mainly the soft-sealed seat). stub-smls – seamless steel pipes (short pipes) welded at both ends of the valve ； After PE welding of the short tube, the port is PE (flat end) ； S-80 short pipe wall thickness SCH80 ； The material for the 5L-B short pipe is API 5L Gr.B ； There should also be a version with a shorter tube length, which isn’t specified here.
I agree with this understanding; I haven’t seen such a valve before. The sealing surface is REINF PTFE SEATS
