I’m reaching out to fellow members in this forum; I have just started working in the hydrogen industry and hope to get some advice from everyone. Operating conditions for laboratory pilot tests: Hydrogenation is carried out using powdered Ni (commonly known as Raney Ni) in a 50-liter stainless steel reactor equipped with magnetic stirring; the operating temperature ranges from 90 to 120 degrees, with heat supplied by heat transfer oil in the jacket, and the total pressure is 5.0–7.0 MPa. The rotation speed is 400-500 rpm. Raney is in powder form, with a particle size of around 200 mesh, and it has a relatively fast settling speed. Question: I now want to conduct scale-up tests using a reactor with a volume of 3 cubic meters, but what should I do with such a high rotation speed? If the rotation speed is reduced, the hydrogenation effect is not satisfactory. Which equipment manufacturer can do it? I hope to communicate; please do not include personal information in your posts
The topic wasn’t expressed very clearly; I want to purchase a hydrogenation reactor for conducting scale-up experiments. For a reactor with a volume of 3 cubic meters, the rotation speed can’t possibly be above 400 rpm. How can solid powders, liquid materials, and hydrogen be mixed evenly in a large reactor?
