There is a current project in which the medium is divided into two parts: one organic and the other inorganic. The inorganic medium is highly corrosive. Based on the site requirements, a mass flow meter was selected for measuring the flow of organic media; the inorganic media are acidic, with some containing chloride ions and others containing bromide ions. According to the 1995 edition of the \"Corrosion Data and Material Selection Handbook,\" tantalum or Hastelloy B is recommended for use. Tantalum is relatively expensive, and manufacturers of flow meters do not use this material. Party A wants to choose Hastelloy C, but there are no corrosion data available for Hastelloy against bromide and chloride ions. Are there any new corrosion manuals or manuals on metal materials available for reference? Or could you provide some data on the corrosion resistance of Hastelloy C? Thank you

Process pipelines are an excellent choice – those lined with PTFE
Mass flow meters generally use Hastelloy C; according to the \"Corrosion Data and Material Selection Handbook (2nd Edition)\", Hastelloy B and C can also be used under specific operating conditions. I don’t know the specifics either; it’s written in the manual.
I’m quite curious – for inorganic media, are electromagnetic flowmeters used? It’s sufficient to use the same material for the lining and the pipe; can’t electrodes made of HC be used instead? Could it be that you’re not pipes with full media?
We have HAB tantalum; full PTFE is also available

For those containing chloride ions, choose an electromagnetic flowmeter with PTFE lining; for the electrodes, use tantalum or platinum-iridium alloy, and follow the manufacturer’s standards for the grounding ring
