On the calculation of flue gas flow rate in the SCR process

2016-04-02View Original

Thread Content

Dear colleagues, some catalytic cracking units are currently equipped with the SCR process. The amount of ammonia to be injected is calculated based on the flue gas flow rate and the difference in NOx concentrations at the inlet and outlet of the SCR system; therefore, it is very important to accurately determine the flue gas flow rate. If you have any experience in this area, please share it. Thank you!

Previously, our calculations were rough estimates, typically taking 1.15 times the main air volume. At the moment, we are also carrying out these calculations; the reason is that the pressure of the flue gas at the residual boiler is low, making it difficult to obtain accurate measurements. I will let you know once I have worked out the detailed calculation method.

Thank you; simple calculations or estimates based on the smoke-to-air ratio are not a problem. If it is not a complete regeneration, the situation becomes somewhat more complex. I hope to discuss this further with you. Thank you again! :handshake
