Heat exchanger for crude oil and slurry oil: does the crude oil flow through the shell side, while the slurry oil flows through the tube side? Thank you all for your guidance!
The tube side in the tube bundle is prone to erosion, so, considering both factors, the oil slurry should flow on the tube side.
Don’t you think the principle chosen for the shell and tube layer of this heat exchanger is contradictory? I had the same question back then too? I looked up some information later and consulted the expert in equipment systems, who told me that when working on such designs, if this kind of situation arises, one must choose the lesser of two evils!
