Are you referring to the regeneration of softened resin? If it is a softening resin, no problems will be apparent in the short term, as such resins are usually strong-acid cation resins that exhibit greater selectivity for calcium and magnesium ions compared to sodium ions. Since you have just started using this resin, the amount of calcium and magnesium ions released during elution is not yet high. As long as the concentration of sodium ions remains high enough, the resin can be regenerated. However, as the number of regeneration cycles increases and the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions in the regeneration solution keeps rising, the regeneration efficiency will decline, and the hardness of the water output will increase until it fails to meet the required standards. Unless the regeneration solution from the subsequent stage is retained each time it is regenerated, the amount of calcium and magnesium ions in it will be much lower. It can be used in the pre-regeneration stage of resins. There is no problem with this.
