1. When using software for calculations, only horizontal containers have their saddles taken into account; therefore, I would like to ask whether all containers need to be calculated or checked as well. 2. If it isn’t necessary, is there any indication for horizontal containers regarding the diameter at which no calculation for a saddle is required?
It should be verified in all cases, as you chose the supports based on the diameter. If the container and the medium are very heavy, then using supports selected based on diameter will definitely not work. Therefore, all supports need to be checked, and reference can be made to the appendix of JB/T4712. If you have any questions, feel free to ask again. I attended a training session not long ago, and the instructor emphasized this point, saying that people didn’t pay enough attention in the past, which led to safety hazards. I just checked all the supports recently.
Doesn’t every support have an allowable load? If the load applied to the equipment is less than the load capacity specified for that support, is it still necessary to conduct a verification?
