Reasons for the automatic shutdown of a screw compressor due to high exhaust temperature
A high exhaust temperature can cause sequential shutdowns; it is related to the temperature of the cooling oil as well as the efficiency of heat dissipation in the external environment.
The question raised by the original poster is quite general; it would be better to be more specific for a more accurate analysis. Consider the following aspects: 1. Is it an oil-injected screw compressor or a oil-free screw compressor? If it’s an oil-injected screw compressor, is the cooling effect of the oil cooler insufficient? 2. Is it single-stage compression or two-stage series compression? In the case of two-stage compression, is the inter-stage cooler not effective enough in cooling? 3. Is the exhaust pressure normal? Is it above the normal range? Is the backpressure in the pipeline network high? 4. Is the load on the screw compressor higher than before due to an increased demand for process gas, resulting in more frequent loading and unloading? Is the loading time longer than before? 5. Is the machine cooled by a water jacket, and is the flow rate of the cooling water normal? 6. Is the inlet filter clogged, and has there been any change in the pressure difference across the air filter?
This question is difficult to answer as it is too general; based on experience, one can roughly consider 1: insufficient fuel or liquid injection volume by the compressor; 2. Excessively high oil temperature ; 3. Problems such as excessive inhalation superheat.
It’s a dry type that doesn’t spray liquid; the exhaust pressure is too high, or the intake temperature is high, or high intake pressure results in a high pressure ratio. For the liquid spraying, the main issue is that the amount of liquid sprayed is too low; other factors include the intake air temperature and pressure. Others may be related to design and manufacturing

Additionally, if the intake temperature is too low, it can cause icing at the inlet, blocking vacuum extraction, and this may also lead to a high exhaust temperature.
