Differences between electrodesalination and electrodehydration equipment

As the title suggests, what are the major differences between electrodialysis and electrodehydration equipment? Please advise
There is no difference. Electrodesalination is electrodehydration; the salt is in water.
Can the same equipment be used for oilfield dehydration and refinery desalination?
The oil field dehydration process is not clear, but I think the same equipment should not be used. Because the main purpose of electrodesalination is to remove salts, the water content in the crude oil after this process is very low ； Oil fields cannot remove water from crude oil to such a high degree of purity; it is sufficient as long as the water content in the crude oil meets the sales standards. Otherwise, refineries wouldn’t need to use electrical desalination at all.
There isn’t a big difference. The purpose is different. One is a device designed for dehydration, and the other is one designed for desalination.
