Due to the high volume of steam, 48 wet air coolers were selected. After the turbine was started, all of the waste heat steam generated by the plant was gradually directed to the turbine. The air-cooling water circulation pumps were operated at full capacity, as were all 48 vertical air coolers, but the results were not satisfactory. I started looking for the cause, cleaning the nozzle over and over again; my whole body got completely soaked until I was drenched, yet the vacuum level wouldn’t drop at all. Check that the inlet pressure of the cooling water to the air cooler is normal ; Clean the nozzle; it’s useless ; The temperature change at the inlet and outlet of the air cooler, as measured with a thermometer, is minimal ; Having the exhaust pump turned on fully has no effect. Then, an investigation is carried out and a countermeasure meeting is held. The analysis of wind direction was incorrect; it was necessary to adjust the direction of each electrical unit individually. The cooling water gradually returned to the reservoir, the temperature of the condensate water decreased, the vacuum level increased, and as a result, power generation improved. It worked.
In a vertical air-cooling system, if the airflow direction is reversed, the cooling effect is poor.
