Currently, when conducting SIL assessments in China, probability of failure data is used; AQ3054 provides some reference failure data, and there are also foreign databases such as OREDA’s. Experts, in what other areas can failure probability databases be applied? What are the application areas? What do all the experts think? I would appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Generally, the methods for determining the failure data of circuit components fall into the following categories: ① The sensing elements, logic elements, and actuating elements in the SIF circuit obtain SIL rating certification certificates, from which the relevant failure data can be directly extracted; ②Based on the data related to equipment operation as well as maintenance and repair activities, the enterprise has compiled failure data for its sensing elements, logic elements, and actuating elements; relevant failure data can be retrieved from the failure database provided by the enterprise ; ③For instruments or valves that cannot provide a SIL certificate, or for those whose SIL certificates lack reliability data, data from similar types of instruments or valves in the E*DA database is used for verification, or generic data from the E*DA database is employed ; ④Refer to the failure data of other enterprises or devices.
