In accordance with NB/T 47042-2014 \"Horizontal Vessels\" clause 5.4.1c), \"the saddle gasket welded to the cylinder shall be compatible with the cylinder material.\" If the material of the horizontal vessel’s cylinder is Q345R, can Q245R be used for the saddle gasket?
If the material of the horizontal vessel shell is Q345R, Q245R can be used for the saddle gasket. ““The saddle gasket welded to the cylinder should be compatible with the cylinder material,” which means that their welding properties must be compatible in order to avoid welding defects. Q345R and Q245R have similar welding properties and are well-compatible, so they can be used.
When the thickness of the cylinder and that of the gasket are equal or similar, factories use the cylinder material for the gasket, as it is not worthwhile to purchase material separately.
The main consideration is that there is a large amount of high-quality Q245R material that wants to be utilized...
So, what material is the saddle made of? Is it also 245?
The bottom plate, web, and stiffener plates are all Q235B...
I think it’s possible; generally, it uses the same material as the cylinder body
Isn’t this just an example of how meticulous attention is paid to details in terms of cylinder 345, gasket 245, and saddle 235? What a spirit of precision! It’s better not to do it; there’s no need to waste it! :)
