Dear teachers: In the books, UGI and Lurgi reactors were used for gasifying coal. Can such atmospheric-pressure gasification reactors now be used with residue as the feedstock? There is a project currently under consideration, and residue is quite cheap; I would like to know whether this is feasible
It probably won’t work; fixed-bed reactors use lump coal, which has a high content of residue and water, as well as uneven particle sizes.

This can only be achieved using current fluidized-bed gasification; for example, the raw material used in the earliest Texaco gasification processes was residue, and these are all very mature technologies.
If it is fuel gas, a carbon molecular vaporizer can solve your problem. Its production cost is lower than that of Texaco, similar to that of current two-stage furnaces.
May I ask which companies can provide the process technology and equipment for carbon molecular vaporizers used in gasifying residue oil? Could you please provide their contact information?
Fixed-bed gasification isn’t a viable option; it has high requirements regarding the raw materials used. Coal water slurry gasification could be considered, as Texaco certainly started out using residue oil.
