The drain valves in steam systems seem particularly prone to internal leakage; even if such valves meet the standards and are manufactured by reputable companies, this problem cannot be avoided. Does anyone have experience in this area? Should stop valves, gate valves, or some other type of valve be used to reduce this issue or even prevent it? Or could any manufacturers step forward to showcase their own technologies?
Double gate valves are used; when closing, as long as there is no leakage, it helps to extend the valve’s service life.

It is basically impossible to prevent operators from acting recklessly relying solely on quality, knowledge, and self-discipline. Moreover, the same rough handling is applied to the drain operations in low-temperature conditions within the device; drain operations under normal conditions are less likely to get damaged. I wonder whether it is the high temperature that reduces the strength of the valve components, and whether rough handling causes plastic deformation of these components, leading to internal leakage. Could increasing the strength of the valve components by one grade solve this problem?
Even the best equipment requires maintenance and care during use; otherwise, its performance and lifespan will be significantly reduced. Especially for applications with harsh or relatively harsh operating conditions. It’s just that all the daily/regular maintenance work related to the valves has been left far behind in the Pacific; if they break, we just replace them...
