It’s a very basic question; in the past, when alignment was required, the double-table method was always used, and it was for water pumps where high precision wasn’t necessary! This time, I encountered a device for which it was necessary to eliminate axial play. I looked up some information online and understood the method of using three sensors; however, the process of adding and subtracting the values obtained from the two sensors used for axial measurement is a bit unclear and uncertain! For example: b1=(b1+b3)\2, b2=(b2+b4)\2, b3=(b3+b1)\2, b4=(b4+b2)\2. No diagram is shown, but experts should understand it at a glance! What I want to ask is how to determine the sign of B1+b3 in the expression b1=(b1+b3)\2; when dealing with a single value, positive numbers are added together, positive numbers are subtracted from each other, and negative numbers are subtracted from each other. But since this involves readings from two tables, I’m not sure whether it follows the same rule as when measuring with a single table – that is, adding positive values together and subtracting negative values from each other. I need an expert to help me figure this out!

The calculation method you described involves first combining the data for the same measurement points from the two tables; once the data is combined, the calculation is the same as it would be for a single table. Why use two tables? It is mainly used to check whether the value changes are consistent at the final zeroing position, by observing the variations in the values of the two gauges, thereby eliminating errors caused by axial movement during alignment using just one gauge.
After adjusting the zero point, moving forward corresponds to a positive value, while moving backward corresponds to a negative value. The zero point serves as a reference for ease of calculation. The sums of the top and bottom, as well as the left and right, should be equal
