Copper slag is now also classified as hazardous waste. We are working in partnership with several well-known domestic companies involved in the wet-process zinc smelting; in these processes, zinc and cadmium are extracted from copper-cadmium slag, resulting in the formation of copper slag. After cadmium is recovered from the leachate, it is returned to the zinc processing system. The treatment involves leaching the copper slag followed by copper electrowinning, and after copper is removed through electrowinning, the resulting liquid can be reused in the leaching of sulfide ore. This approach allows for the utilization of the acid produced during electrowinning, as well as the recovery of zinc and cadmium from the copper slag! As for electrowinning technology, we employ a turbulent electrowinning process, which reduces the requirements regarding the concentration of impurity ions in the leachate.
The treatment process involves leaching copper slag followed by electrowinning of copper; the liquid resulting from copper removal through electrowinning can be reused in the leaching of roasted ore, thereby allowing the use of the acid produced during electrowinning as well as the recovery of zinc and cadmium from the copper slag! After leaching, copper can be crystallized using a crystallization method.
