Dear colleagues, we are a pharmaceutical company that produces medications requiring precise measurement of the amount of liquid used. A certain volume of raw liquid is concentrated to a specific level using a double-effect concentrator; therefore, it is necessary to install a level gauge on this concentrator. However, the inside of the double-effect concentrator is under negative pressure (around 8 kilograms), and it is in a state of heating and boiling (with a temperature not exceeding 100 degrees). Traditional Chinese medicine extracts also have a certain degree of viscosity. I bought a static-pressure type liquid level gauge, but it showed readings even when the air compressor wasn’t in use; once the compressor was turned on, the reading became zero. I searched online and found that a magnetic flap type level gauge could be used. I asked a manufacturer, who said that a differential-pressure double-flange level gauge would be better. I haven’t worked with this type of gauge before, so I’m asking those of you who have experience in this area: does anyone know anything about it? Thank you for the advice!

Ours is a metering type – for example, it can be used to concentrate 200 kilograms of extract to 150 kilograms. The height of the workshop has not been determined yet; it will depend on the actual conditions. A static pressure level gauge is the type that is installed on the side bottom of the storage tank, like the 2088 model
There is a type of level gauge called an external measuring level gauge, which utilizes the principle of sonar ranging to measure the liquid level in a container without needing to come into contact with the medium inside the container; it is also unaffected by the pressure within the container. It’s worth taking a look, but the price of the gauge is a bit higher than that of the double-flange type.
It is recommended to consider using a load cell
