Why are open ditches advisable to be installed inside fire dikes?

Article 3.1.5 of the new design code for fire dikes, GB 50351-2014, states that open ditches should be provided within fire dikes. Why is that?
The dark ditch became a locally enclosed space.
If hidden channels are installed, oil and gas accumulate in enclosed spaces and reach their explosive limit; when exposed to open flames or high temperatures, this can lead to fires and explosions, resulting in casualties and property damage
Open ditches should allow flammable substances to evaporate easily, right?
In the past, for water supply and drainage systems, only a few sump wells were designed; the water would flow naturally toward these sumps due to the slope, with no hidden or exposed ditches being installed.
Flammable gases can easily accumulate in dark trenches, increasing the risk of explosion
It is an open drainage ditch; there is no point in installing a hidden ditch
