Regarding the types of notches in Appendix C of GB50236

I wonder if other marine engineers have noticed that in Appendix C of GB50236, only for Type I notches are there regulations regarding single-sided or double-sided welding; why aren’t there such regulations for other types of notches? I’m a beginner in welding, so please give me some guidance.

Type I requires no groove cutting; requirements for single-sided or double-sided welding are specified depending on the plate thickness. For those with a V-shaped groove, double-sided welding is not necessary; welders must possess the skill to achieve double-sided formation using single-sided welding. For those with an X-shaped groove, double-sided welding is definitely required. Therefore, except for type I, there is no need to specify whether single-sided or double-sided welding is needed. Keep it up!
For thicknesses of 8 mm or less, welding can be carried out directly without a groove; an I-shaped groove is used in such cases
