Today I suddenly thought of a strange question, which might sound silly when expressed: during thermal cracking, molecules break apart to form free radicals, and these free radicals then proceed to react with each other. But if one of these free radicals moves to a very distant location, and after the reaction is complete, the two separate free radicals A and B end up far apart from each other (with all the other free radicals having combined to form molecules), what happens then? How can these two separate free radicals A and B combine together if they are so far apart? After all, in reality, free radicals do not exist on their own; so how do these two free radicals A and B manage to combine after being separated by such a large distance? Haha, I feel so bored. But can someone please explain it to me? I keep thinking about this damn problem.
