Is the flange end face of the 40-kilogram valve equipped with a ribbed surface? Are there any guidelines? Our company’s material lists usually don’t specify this, and there are no mistakes made after placing an order. Do experts have any regulations on this? Anyway, I didn’t find it
What is a valve? A sealing surface; flanges are nothing but sealing surfaces, right?
For pressure flanges weighing over 40 kg, concave-convex surfaces, tenon-mortise surfaces, or ring-connected surfaces are used as the sealing surfaces; such surface types can meet the sealing requirements of the operating conditions. Generally, the flanges on valves have a concave surface. In my opinion, this helps to save costs and reduce the risk of damage during transportation. When manufacturing matching flanges, they need to be designed to match the sealing surface of the valve: if the valve uses FM standard, then the flange should be of type M; if it’s type M, the flange should be FM; if it’s type G, then it should be type T... It is also possible to use a convex surface for the valve flanges, but this needs to be specified at the time of purchase. When ordering flanges, it’s sufficient to specify that a concave surface is required; however, since such orders are rare, it might be difficult to modify the valves accordingly
It is estimated that the reason for the uneven surface is that the original machine’s flange starts at 40KG
This is supposed to be used in conjunction with valves. For the valves we sell, some customers request that we provide it as a matching set
