PTFE gaskets should be used in low-pressure conditions, where the pre-tensioning force of the flange bolts is relatively low; generally, the nominal pressure is ≤1.6 MPa； WN flanges generally have a nominal pressure of more than 1.6 MPa, and in such cases metal wound gaskets are more commonly used; non-metallic flat gaskets cannot be employed ； So it creates an illusion for the original poster that PTFE cannot be used in WN flanges ； In fact, PTFE can be used for WN flanges with a nominal pressure of less than 1.6 MPa, but this situation is quite rare.
