I’m seeking advice: at a certain location, 2 1-kilogram fire extinguishers are required. For the sake of convenience during maintenance checks, is it okay to use just 1 2-kilogram fire extinguisher instead?
Are the two there as a backup, just in case?

It’s not allowed. Exact basis: Code for Design of Fire Extinguisher Installation in Buildings GB50140-2005, 6.1.1 – The number of fire extinguishers installed in one calculation unit shall not be less than 2.
Follow the standard configuration; do not cut corners and waste fire protection resources.
Does a computing unit refer to a fire extinguisher installation point, or to a factory building, workshop, production section, or something else?
Depending on the location, our chemical enterprises require items to be arranged in groups. There is also the reference to fire protection design

A calculation unit refers to a fire compartment or a floor within a building; it cannot span across fire compartments or floors. Within a calculation unit, multiple fire extinguisher installation points must be provided according to the required protection area and radius. Theoretically, two 1-kilogram fire extinguishers have a combined fire suppression rating of 2A, while one 2-kilogram fire extinguisher has a rating of only 1A; therefore, they cannot be replaced with each other.
One pier, twelve fire extinguishers, 6 fire extinguisher cabinets. That fire extinguisher weighs 1 kilogram; is it possible to replace it with twelve fire extinguishers that weigh 5 kilograms each?
