It is a pilot-operated single-seat control valve, model 501T.d7.1501b, of the air-operated type; it has internal leakage issues, and the tank pressure is 0.48 MPa. Could this be a problem with the selection of the control valve? Thank you.
How long has it been in use? Valve material, stem material?

Adjustable valves made of stainless steel that have been in use for 13 years are prone to leakage; during normal operation, the action of liquids can cause grooves to form, and rust can also create gaps in the sealing surfaces. As for the selection, a pressure of 0.5 MPa can be handled by ordinary control valves; your valve is likely an existing one. Did you discover the internal leakage while performing compression? If so, simply disassemble the valve body to check the condition of the valve core……
The sealing performance of control valves differs from that of on-off valves (such as ball valves); a small amount of leakage is allowed. Does the poster mean that it has increased in size? Then check the valve seat, valve core, and actuator to see if there is any wear or issues with improper operation.
Control valves allow for a small amount of internal leakage; they do not require as high standards as shut-off valves. Besides, it has been in use for 13 years. Check whether it can meet the process requirements; if not, replace the valve body.
It’s been in use for 13 years – so stop being too demanding. If there were issues with the selection, it wouldn’t have lasted this long. In fact, it’s the valve that needs to be replaced; the original supplier must have gone bankrupt by now

It’s been 13 years; it’s impossible to have just now realized that it was a selection issue. This is a problem related to the valve’s lifespan, right?
