Help! What is the iron surrounding the catalyst tank for?

1. It serves to enhance strength through reinforcement rings； 2. It facilitates the catalyst regeneration process; due to the high temperature after regeneration, it serves to dissipate heat. Do you think this explanation works?
It acts as a heat sink, while also providing reinforcement for the cylinder.
Is it used for the support insulation layer?
Insulation ring or reinforcement ring. . .
