For complex systems, many distillation columns are required to achieve separation. When performing simulation calculations in Aspen Plus, is it necessary to set up numerous columns for such calculations? Can we still use a simple separator, set the outlet ratio, and then calculate the energy required for separation?
Start with conceptual module design and simple calculations, then gradually replace the modules to carry out more rigorous calculations.
You can first do only the material balance, and then carry out the detailed calculations :)
