The reciprocating compressor vibrates heavily, and the pipelines vibrate as well – what’s the reason?

Why?
Caused by pulsed airflow. 1. Reduce elbows ; 2. Concrete pipe supports for laying pipes on the ground ; 3. Install buffer balls or orifice plates on the outlet pipe.
Reason for occurrence: 1. Loose pipeline clamps; 2. There is no filler inside the pipeline clamp ; 3. Reasons such as unreasonable pipeline layout.
1. It is due to the inherent characteristics of reciprocating compressors: the compression of the medium occurs in a periodic, pulsating manner, which leads to vibration in the pipelines themselves. 2. If the pipelines are not securely fixed, vibrations will occur in them. 3. As the pulsations increase, resonance can occur within the pipelines, resulting in significantly greater vibrations. 4. There are also issues with the pipeline design; since reciprocating compressors have multiple stages and the connections between these stages are complex, coupled with additional circuits, the overall pipeline structure becomes complex with many direction changes, which in turn creates numerous factors that can induce vibrations
Check if there are any gaps between the brackets
Resonance, adjust air volume; pipelines should not be too long.
First, run a no-load test; if there is vibration, it’s an issue with the foundation installation. Vibration under load is caused by airflow excitation, along with too many elbows
The issue has been resolved: a orifice plate was installed on the inlet filter, the motor was aligned, the compressor’s foot bolts were tightened, the pipeline supports were secured, and the pipe clamps were tightened as well.
It is mostly caused by resonance, and noise-damping devices are used at the outlet.
