On October 20, 2016, the groundbreaking ceremony for Zhongxi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.’s project for the harmless treatment of 300,000 tons per year of coal tar and coal tar residues was held. Zhongxi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. is a company established through joint investment by China Energy, Hami State Investment, and Yiwu County Investment. The project is located in the Naomaohu Industrial Park in Yiwu County, Hami, Xinjiang, with a total investment of 1.18 billion yuan. The construction includes a coal tar hydrogenation unit with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, as well as a hydrogen production facility that uses raw gas at a rate of 80,000 Nm3/h.
