Before starting the canned pump, is it necessary to set the pump’s stroke to 0 on-site before starting? Why?
Shielded pumps generally do not have stroke adjustment. Close the pump outlet at startup, and after starting observe the pressure at the pump outlet; once it reaches the pump’s design pressure, slowly open the pump outlet valve.

There are two ways to start a plunger pump: one is to set the volume control knob to zero and start it without opening the outlet valve； One method is to maintain the normal stroke, start the pump by opening the outlet valve; the pump has check valves at both the inlet and outlet, so backflow generally does not occur.
