It is a circular water storage tank with a diameter of 6 meters and a height of 5 meters; it is self-supporting at its conical top, with a wall thickness of 6. I would appreciate advice from those with more experience regarding whether reinforcement bars are needed for this conical top – it would be great if calculation examples could also be provided.

A 6m one should not be necessary. SY/T0606 and 0608 can be referred to. For this specification, it should be a self-supporting cone tip without reinforcement.
The formula can be found in the section of GB50341 related to self-supporting cone tops. I did a rough calculation, and it seems sufficient if snow loads are not taken into account

Just look up the standards directly; only by truly understanding them can they become your own knowledge. Otherwise, you’ll still not understand when faced with problems again

The calculated thickness is 4.83 mm; the negative deviation for Q235B steel plates is 0.6 mm, and the corrosion margin is 1 mm – so 6 mm is not sufficient. It is recommended to add ribs or use an arch structure; the arch structure can do without ribs. An 8mm thick cone tip is also acceptable.
