When can a pipeline undergo a pressure test? When can the pressure test on pipelines be waived?
The pipeline installation is complete; after purging, it is time to check for air tightness. The so-called pressure test of the pipeline involves detecting leaks at the welds and joints
For toxic and hazardous media, a gas-tightness test is required; for our discharge outlets, neither a pressure test nor non-destructive testing is necessary

A pressure test and a airtightness test are not the same. Pressure testing is required for all pipelines, while a gas-tightness test is only done for toxic and flammable gases. Considering the safety of pressure testing, hydraulic testing is preferred. When hydraulic testing is not feasible, pneumatic testing can be carried out under conditions that meet the standard requirements; specific provisions are given in GB50235 standard. Requirements regarding the exemption from pressure testing are specified in both GB20235 and GB/T20801; see the attachment
