The size and pressure are the same; it’s just the connection method that differs, such as RF and BW
What changes in dimensions can occur due to different connection methods? Please, someone knowledgeable, answer this
The connection method does not cause any change in the inner diameter of the pipe.
This post was last edited by ylb913 on 2017-3-10 06:21. RF is a raised-face flange, and it represents the most common type of flange sealing surface in low-pressure applications. BW refers to butt welding, which is also the most common type of connection; butt weld flanges are likewise very common. Flanges with surfacing welding are only used at very low pressures. RF and BW are not concepts from the same series; they refer to the type of flange sealing surface and the method of connection. And this indeed will not affect the flow area of the pipeline.
The connection method has nothing to do with flow rate; it is only related to sealing performance, and the choice should be based on different pressures
